From April 6, 2025, to January 4, 2026, Palazzo Grassi in Venice presents Tatiana Trouvé: The Strange Life of Things, the most extensive solo exhibition to date by the French-Italian artist Tatiana Trouvé (b. 1968, Cosenza). Curated by Caroline Bourgeois and James Lingwood, the exhibition is conceived in close collaboration with the artist and marks her first major exhibition in Italy. The exhibition transforms the three floors of Palazzo Grassi into a labyrinth of physical and imaginary environments, featuring new sculptures, large-scale drawings, and site-specific installations. These works are presented alongside significant pieces from the past decade, including contributions from the Pinault Collection, international museums, private collections, and the artist’s own archive. Trouvé’s artistic universe invites visitors on a journey through inner and outer worlds, where dreams, memories, and visions converge. Images and objects appear and reappear across different spaces, transitioning between two and three dimensions. The exhibition also includes works reflecting on recent global events, such as the 2020 pandemic and civil unrest near her Montreuil studio in 2023, incorporating elements like nautical charts, astronomical maps, and found objects to create disorienting and hypnotic worlds. This exhibition is part of the Pinault Collection’s series of monographic exhibitions dedicated to major contemporary artists.
