In Held at Arnolfini, a monumental bear carries a face derived from a scan of Jonathan Baldock’s mother and welcomes visitors’ touch. Through this tender, uncanny presence, the exhibition questions our need to be held, our ideas of kinship and the boundaries between human and non-human.
