A suspended structure turns light into energy for its movements and guitar strings. In SV1, or Sound Voyager, Björn Schülke brings solar cells, motors and sensors together in a kinetic sound sculpture.
The device evokes an observation instrument transformed into a strange autonomous creature. Technology leaves its utilitarian role to produce an uncertain presence, somewhere between listening and surveillance.
