Initiated in 2011 and comprehensively reconfigured since 2024, La Métamorphe connects Zara Calcabrini’s body to an interactive video and sound environment. Movement changes image and sound; these in turn alter the performer’s rhythm, space and decisions.
Choreography becomes a feedback loop rather than a fixed sequence of gestures. Neither body nor code commands alone: the work explores a zone of negotiation in which stage identity forms, breaks down and starts again. The embedded video is documentation published in 2026, not the project’s date of origin.
