Untitled Second Floor (ONE BIG DARK ROOM) reconstructs at 75 percent scale the second floor of Amanda Ross-Ho’s childhood home in Chicago. The artist combines interiors photographed by her mother, her own memories, and details from a Zillow listing—three incomplete sources that turn the house into a set rather than a reliable copy.
In Untitled Demolition (HYPHEN), Ross-Ho repeatedly demolishes and rebuilds the wall dividing the two front bedrooms, formerly her parents’ room. Labour, noise, debris, and repair prevent the family monument from becoming fixed; memory remains a structure the body must continually make again.
