A black square interrupts the white expanse of the Bonneville Salt Flats. Gregory Orekhov uses light-absorbing fabric to create a surface that seems to withdraw from the landscape. Our reading: this minimal intervention unsettles depth and scale, as though an impossible image had suddenly appeared within the ground.
