Open Reel Ensemble – Magnetic Folklore

Formed in Japan in 2009, Open Reel Ensemble creates music with Jigakkyu, a self-invented instrument that combines bamboo bows with vintage magnetic tape reels. Bridging tradition and obsolete technology, their performances transform sound into a striking form of experimental folklore.
