Mihai-Aureliu Savin — The Sculptor Sleeps Tonight (2025), CICA Museum 2026

Mihai-Aureliu Savin sleeps inside the exhibition while a 3D printer continuously produces a self-portrait generated from a LiDAR scan. Body, file, machine and material form a chain of delegation in which the sculptor no longer models the form directly.

Presented at CICA Museum in Outsourced Practices II: Endless Extractions, the performance makes a night's sleep coincide with the standardized working day. Biological inactivity becomes a productive spectacle while the machine continues working without rest.
