Microtonal brings together two hundred borindos, clay instruments from Sindh, Pakistan. Invisible Flock developed the installation with musician Faqir Zulfiqar and potter Allah Jurio. Speakers inside the instruments activate their resonances; surrounding sounds, recordings and visitors’ movements contribute to a collective listening experience.
Created in 2022, the work tours the United Kingdom in 2026. It invites us to understand transmission as a living relationship between craft, technology and attention, rather than the preservation of a silent object.
