At HEREDIUM in Daejeon, Chiharu Shiota gathers doors from former railway houses and shoes donated by local residents. Red thread binds these traces of ordinary lives into a shared space of memory. The objects retain their differences while becoming anchors for one network, between material presence and absent lives. The film continues to The Home Within at Artsite Soje, the exhibition’s second venue.

Location: HEREDIUM and Artsite Soje, Daejeon, South Korea. Exhibition August 30, 2026–February 21, 2027. Video published on the artist’s account on October 16, 2026, using footage from HEREDIUM.

Artist: Born in Osaka in 1972 and based in Berlin, Chiharu Shiota connects everyday objects through dense networks of thread. Her installations explore memory, absence and human relationships.
