At Akureyri Art Museum, twelve boat fenders are activated by piano strings and small motors. The objects amplify these vibrations, producing a field of humming, pulsing and rustling sounds.
The installation turns a familiar material from Iceland’s maritime surroundings into a situation of attention. Its apparent repetition opens a space in which minute differences become perceptible.
