Andreas Angelidakis — Escape Room (2026), Greek Pavilion, Venice

Suspended columns, reflections and an illuminated floor: the pavilion seems to have lost its stability. With Escape Room, Andreas Angelidakis turns the space into a contemporary version of Plato’s cave, where images help construct what we accept as true.

A Greek artist and architect, Angelidakis uses the immersive environment to question national narratives. The setting does more than attract the eye: it asks us to notice how history, symbols and staging shape our perception.
