Leisure closely films a female trick rider repeating the old stunt of falling from the saddle while pretending to die. Intercut with hazmat-clad workers frozen inside an amusement-park shooting range and soldiers restaging a “mannequin challenge,” the film turns entertainment into a protocol of exhaustion.
The work formed part of Pastimes at O—Overgaden, Copenhagen, Denmark, from 21 February to 3 May 2026. Freja Sofie Kirk (born in Denmark in 1990; graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2024) uses video, performance, and installation to examine the relations between camera, control, and the performing body.
