In Floating Sea Palace (2024), a former floating restaurant becomes a spectral vessel propelled by stories and memory. 3D scans, shadow play, and Cantonese opera produce a deliberately unstable image in which cultural translation appears as loss, invention, and survival.
The video installation anchored Bamboo Palace, Revisited at Blindspot Gallery, Hong Kong, from 23 March to 2 May 2026, alongside new glass and neon works. Lap-See Lam (born in Stockholm in 1990, where she lives and works) develops speculative fictions around the Hong Kong Chinese diaspora. The gallery’s post is clearly identified as an excerpt from the work, not the complete film.
