At Dai Anga’s tomb in Lahore, collages and sculptural props encounter a recitation from the cookbook Alwan-e-Nemat. Mohsin Shafi connects nourishment with the labour of care and family mourning. Mughal miniature painting moves beyond the picture plane into an architecture dense with history: who feeds, who receives, and whose lives make the meal possible?
