Nadia Coën — Trapezoidal Memory (2026), KinoSaito

An architecture of memory in which moving image, language, sound and reflection continually displace the viewer’s position.

A large projection of a hand reflects on the floor in the red-lit space of Nadia Coën’s Trapezoidal Memory installation at KinoSaito.

Created during Nadia Coën’s residency at KinoSaito in May 2026, Trapezoidal Memory brings moving image, language, sound and reflection into an immersive architectural environment. Its luminous planes resist a frontal reading: memory becomes a tilted space to be crossed rather than possessed.

Born in Zimbabwe and based in New York, Nadia Coën works across installation, image and exhibition design. The work was made at KinoSaito Art Center in Verplanck, New York, United States; the official video was published on 4 October 2026.
