In Untitled, Sofia Mastorakis makes a sewing machine, a projector, clear 16 mm film leader and cotton thread work together. The repetitive action produces an unstable image of shadows and fibres: sewing does not illustrate the film but becomes a projection apparatus and a bodily measure of time.

The hour-long performance was presented in wind blown and rosy, the second annual Ohio State University MFA exhibition, at ROY G BIV Gallery, 435 West Rich Street, Columbus, Ohio, United States, from September 11 to October 2, 2026. Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, Mastorakis is a second-year MFA student at Ohio State University investigating the contact between textiles, installation and image technologies.

The gallery published this direct performance excerpt on September 28, 2026.
